Brewing news USA: Anheuser-Busch CEO, August A. Busch IV, will get $1.2 million in salary

Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc., the nation's largest brewer, will pay August A. Busch IV a base salary of more than $1.2 million beginning Dec. 1, when he becomes its president and chief executive, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, The Huston Chronicle learned November 27 from The Associated Press.

Busch, 41, will succeed Patrick T. Stokes, who will become chairman of the St. Louis, Missouri-based company's board. Stokes, 63, succeeds August A. Busch III, who will remain a consultant to the maker of Budweiser and Michelob beers.

The younger Busch was also given nearly 740,000 stock options, according to the filing.

Shares of Anheuser-Busch dipped 2 cents to $46.26 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange on November 27.
